Dean

Huang Youfang, male, Han nationality, born in June 1959, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, doctoral tutor, President of Shanghai Maritime University, dean of China Institute of FTZ Supply Chain. He began to teach at Shanghai Shipping Institute and held a post of the deputy director of faculty, deputy director of the Human Resources Department and assistant president of Shanghai Maritime University from 1993 to 1999. He became the deputy director of Shanghai Shipping Institute in 1999. In 2004, he was promoted as the Vice-chancellor of Shanghai Maritime University. From December 2011, he was promoted to be the president of Shanghai Maritime University. President Huang is at the same time the director of LLT Advisory Board supervised by the Ministry of Education, director of China Institute of Navigation, director of the Container Supply Chain Technology Engineering Center supervised by the Ministry of Education, deputy director of Shanghai International Shipping Center Expert Committee, convener of the 4th Shanghai Academic Degrees Committee of Discipline Review Group of Transportation Engineering, Ship and Ocean Engineering and Aerospace Science and Technology. President Huang is the Vice director of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and China Logistics Association, president of Academic Committee of Northeast Asia Logistics Association, special International consultant of UNCTAD/WTO, executive director of China Port Association and etc.

In 1996 President Huang won the second prize of Shanghai Outstanding Invention and the first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress in 2003. He was awarded the second prize of National Science Progress in 2004 and the first prize of National Technological Innovation Achievements of Employees at the same year. He has been assigned with the Special Allowance by the State Council since 2004 and was the first winner of Dawn Award of Shanghai Education Foundation in 2005. In 2006, he won the first prize of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing Science and Technology Progress and obtained the honorary title of the first "expert with excellent contributions for logistics in China". In 2008, he was named as a “Shanghai outstanding academic leader” and a "character with outstanding contributions for progresses of China's logistics reform and opening-up during 30 years". In 2009, he won the first prize of “people with great contributions for P.G. Logistics” by China Guanghua Foundation and China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing. He was named as one of China Logistics Top Ten People of the Year of 2009 by China Logistics Times in 2010. And he was also awarded as one of the Top Ten Most Influential People of the Year of 2009 in China shipping industry.

President Huang has published more than 200 papers, books, inventions and patents etc. in distinguish world-known academic journals and popular conferences. He has been invited to present more than 100 specialized reports at domestic and overseas conferences, workshops and training courses. He has been acting as the principal investigator for more than 100 national and provisional scientific and research projects as well as projects entrusted by enterprises.

 

Vice Dean

Yan wei, male, Vice president of Shanghai Maritime University, Vice dean of China Institute of FTZ Supply Chain, Doctor., Professor, doctoral tutor, Shanghai Shuguang Scholar, Shanghai Pujiang Scholar, member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Shanghai Committee. He obtained the bachelor's degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University, master's degree from the National University of Singapore, doctor's degree from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He worked as a research assistant at Nanyang Technological University for two years and then began to teach in Shanghai Maritime University. He holds posts of Vice dean of China Institute of FTZ Supply Chain, deputy director of Shanghai Social Science Innovation Research Base for Supply Chain Free Trade Zone, deputy director of the Container Supply Chain Technology Engineering Center supervised by the Ministry of Education, director of the Coordinated Innovation Platform for Intelligent Port’s Logistics and Transportation Industry, deputy director of National Experiment and Teaching Model Center of Modern Port Logistics, deputy director of National Virtual Simulation Experiment and Teaching Center of Modern Port Logistics.

Professor Yan is the academic leader of the second class doctor degree discipline of Industrial Engineering and also the academic leader of Shanghai World-class Discipline of Logistics Engineering and Management specialized in FTZ supply chain. He is on the editorial board of the international journal of Advanced Engineering Informatics and is the deputy editor of Journal of China Construction Machinery and the executive director of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. More than 30 international journal papers of the 110 papers that he has published were SCI / SSCI indexed. One of his representative papers has been SCI-cited for more than 500 times and others were awarded as excellent papers. He is the editor of three special issues of international journals and has been awarded as an Elsevier Excellent Reviewer. He has won awards in international competitions such as the Challenge Competition of Design of a Container Terminal for the Next Generation. He has acted as the principal investigator for more than 10 scientific and research projects founded by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Transport, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. He has acted as the chief researchers for more than 50 projects founded by National High Technology Research and Development (Major) Program of China, National High Technology Research and Development Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Special International Cooperation Program of Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality (Major) Program and major programs entrusted by enterprises and local authorities regarding to decision-making and consulting.

Vice Dean

Chen Weijiong, male, Han nationality, born in 1957 in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, Doctor, Professor, doctoral tutor. Majored in ocean ship maneuvering, he graduated from the department of navigation at Shanghai Shipping Institute in 1982. He is Vice president (part-time) of China (Shanghai) Free Trade Zone Supply Chain Institute for Research, secretary of the Party Committee and executive Vice president of Marine Science and Engineering College, executive director of China Logistics Association, Vice president of Shanghai Society for Scientific and Technical Information and Chairman of Intellectual Property Committee.

Professor Chen is an appointed expert in the soft science by the Ministry of Transport and Shanghai International Shipping Research Center. He is the editor of China's Logistics Technology Development Report (annual edition). He is at the editorial board of SSCI Journal of Maritime Policy & Management, CSCI core journal of Chinese Journal of Safety Science, Chinese core journal of Journal of Shanghai Maritime University and Shipping Review. He is a member of Shanghai Maritime University Academic Committee and Degree Evaluation Committee. As a professional seaman, Professor Chen acts as the teaching dean of Merchant Marine College of Shanghai Maritime University, the director of the publication of Outlines of the National Test of Seafarer Driving and the convener of experts for subjects of Captain Business and Ship Management included in the national test.
